World's Toughest Fixes is an American reality series that premiered on the National Geographic Channel on September 28, 2008. It features Sean Riley participating in various "tough fixes"; repairs and renovations done on equipment that is very large or dangerous. Riley is an expert in heavy duty rigging and load bearing, and works with other specialized engineers to tackle these uniquely difficult jobs. A first season aired 8 episodes beginning on September 26, 2008. A second season aired 8 episodes beginning on June 4, 2009. A third season of 7 episodes aired beginning May 6, 2010. A fourth season aired beginning September 30, 2010. The first season DVD contains 10 episodes, 2 of which aired in season 2. The second season DVD contains 11 episodes, 5 of which aired in season 3.

Verminators
Verminators is an American reality television series. It is produced by Original Productions of Burbank, California and broadcast in the United States on Discovery Channel, Canada on Discovery Channel and the UK on Virgin1. The program follows the employees of the Los Angeles-based pest control company ISOTech as they rid homes and businesses of rodents, cockroaches, termites, spiders, birds and other pests. The series began its run throughout North America on Discovery Channel in April 2008.
A second season began airing in July 2009. It involves Masterson and the ISOTech crew, along with new recruits and associates, having traveled to Florida; ridding considered residents there of both typical and exotic pests that can be expected of a subtropical environment.

James May's Big Ideas
James May's Big Ideas is a three-part British television miniseries in which James May, a journalist and self-acknowledged geek travels the globe in search of implementations for concepts widely considered science fiction, or his big ideas. The series is produced by the BBC and the Open University and began airing at 8pm on Sundays on 28 September 2008.
The first episode documents his search for the ultimate form of personal transport, ranging from jetpacks to flying cars. In the second episode, May looks at bionics and robotics and if robots can exceed the boundaries of their programming. The third episode focuses on energy.
Pedigree Dogs Exposed
Pedigree Dogs Exposed was a BBC One investigative documentary, produced by Jemima Harrison, which looked into health and welfare issues facing pedigree dogs in the United Kingdom. It was originally broadcast on 19 August 2008.
The Kennel Club, the governing body of pedigree dogs in the UK that runs the prestigious dog conformation show Crufts, was criticized for allowing breed standards, judging standards and breeding practices to compromise the health of pedigree dogs.
The programme generated much criticism of the Kennel Club. It also caused various sponsors and trade exhibitors to withdraw their participation from Crufts and other Kennel Club events. The BBC—which has broadcast Crufts for 42 years—withdrew its coverage of Crufts for 2009, and chose not to renew it for 2010.
The Kennel Club initially denied the filmmakers' assertion that many dogs suffer from diseases and stated that the vast majority of dog breeds are healthy. It also lodged a complaint with broadcasting regulator Ofcom, claiming unfair treatment and editing. Due to strong public opinion, it later rolled out new health plans and reviewed breed standards for every breed. Some breeders have condemned the Club for overreacting. Ofcom's final ruling upheld KC's complaints regarding the lack of a right of reply for some allegations made by the programme but dismissed complaints made in various other areas. The ruling also acknowledges that KC's geneticist Jeff Sampson's views were misrepresented but states that as a whole, the KC was not treated unfairly.

The Rachel Zoe Project is an American reality documentary series starring celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. The series premiered on September 9, 2008 on the Bravo television network. The show also airs on Arena in Australia, Really in the United Kingdom, TV3 in Norway, Cosmopolitan TV in Canada, SIC Mulher in Portugal, and Sub in Finland.
The show was confirmed by Bravo for a second season on December 5, 2008. Production began in January 2009. Zoe was spotted during Paris Fashion Week 2009, being followed by a TV crew filming footage for the show. Season 3 premiered on August 3, 2010 on Bravo. The third season covered the departure of Zoe's longtime styling associate, Taylor Jacobson, while introducing a new member to Team Zoe, Ashley Avignone. Season 4 premiered on September 6, 2011 on Bravo. Zoe confirmed that the series had been picked up for a fifth season in September 2012. The fifth season debuted on March 6, 2013.

An Aussie Goes Bolly
An Aussie Goes Bolly was an Australian reality television series which aired on the pay TV channel FOX8 in 2008. The six-part series featured Australian cricket fan Gus Worland following the Australian cricket team during their 2007 tour of India.
The series was a sequel to Worland's 2006 series An Aussie Goes Barmy, and was narrated and produced by Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, who had been "best mates" with Worland since they attended the same kindergarten in Australia.
During a match in Mumbai, Worland stood up to 47,000 Indian fans who were making racial taunts against Australian player Andrew Symonds.

Britney: For the Record
Britney: For the Record is a 2008 documentary television film of American recording artist and entertainer Britney Spears, following her return to the recording industry after her much-publicized personal struggles the year prior. The film was shot in Beverly Hills and New York City during the third quarter of 2008; main shooting began on September 5, 2008, two days before Spears's appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards. It was directed by Phil Griffin. MTV, one of the two official distributors of the documentary, posted on their website the first promotional trailer on October 9, 2008.
Britney: For the Record premiered on MTV on November 30, 2008 in the United States, two days before the release of her sixth studio album, Circus, for which the documentary served as a promotion tool. It received mixed reviews from critics, but was broadcast to high ratings and positive fan reactions.

Street Patrol is a reality television series based and filmed in various cities across the United States. It aired on truTV in the United States and Crime & Investigation Network in Australia. The show is produced by Morgan Langley & John Langley, the producers of the reality television series COPS. Street Patrol is made up of outtake footage from COPS that did not originally air. Many of these segments are from the early 1990s. Segments of Street Patrol often contain less action scenes and more police procedural work, and the series has earned a reputation from some critics as being less interesting and exciting than COPS.
For a time in October to December 2012, reruns of Street Patrol aired on the G4 cable network.

The Passions of Girls Aloud is a four-part television series starring girl group Girls Aloud. The series premiered on ITV2 on 14 March 2008.
DogTown
DogTown is a National Geographic Channel series set at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a 33,000-acre animal facility in southern Utah. It is a documentary-style program that profiles staff and volunteers as they care for dogs in need of homes. Many animals featured are severely abused or neglected or in need of specialized medical treatment. The goal is usually to secure each dog an adoptive home but if this is not possible, animals are cared for at the sanctuary for the remainder of their lives.
The show first aired on January 4, 2008, and continued for four seasons. The final episode aired on March 12, 2010. By participating in the series, the sanctuary aimed to raise public awareness of issues in animal welfare as well as funds for their life-saving work. Best Friends Animal Society has credited the show with dramatically improving membership, volunteer, and visitor numbers, as well as helping secure homes for many dogs on the program.

Navy Divers is a four-episode Australian observational documentary series that debuted on the ABC1 on 28 October 2008. The program follows 27 men training to enter the clearance diver branch of the Royal Australian Navy, into which only 14 will be accepted.
What to Eat Now
What to Eat Now is a six-part series, broadcast on BBC Two and presented by chef Valentine Warner. The basic message behind the series is that people should eat food that is in season.
The series has covered autumnal foods, both meats such as rabbit and pigeon, and fruits and vegetables and fungi, including apples, pears, pumpkins, chicory, beetroot and truffle as part of the series.
The programme was first broadcast on 15 September 2008.
In looking at apples, the show visited Benedictine monks, and talked about how they could find the best apples to make a dish called "apple charlotte".
In looking at beetroot, the show visited a farmer who practiced biodynamic farming, believing that the phases of the moon could affect plant growth.
The show travelled to Lindisfarne to illustrate mussel catching. Warner has also published two books entitled "What to Eat Now" and "What to Eat Now - More Please!" to accompany the series'.
A second series was broadcast in 2009.

Out of the Wild is a Discovery Channel reality television series. The first and second seasons followed volunteers from urbanized backgrounds as they use survival skills in the back-country of Alaska during the fall and winter. The third season saw a relocation of the series to the South American country of Venezuela, while keeping the same general format of season 2. The series was produced by Ricochet in the first season, and by Pilgrim Films in seasons 2 and 3.
