The show follows the training periods of rookie police officers in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and Tampa, Florida as they train on the beat with their Field Training Officers for their first 12 weeks. The episodes include rookie mistakes, training sessions by veteran officers, and final evaluations. Rookies debuted on October 21, 2008 and ended in May 2009.

In the Name of the Fada was a show that aired on RTÉ from 13 March to 17 April 2008, documenting Irish-American comedian Des Bishop and his pursuit of fluency in the Irish language. The show was a 6-part mini-series in which Bishop spends a year living in Tír an Fhia, which is one of many Gaeltacht regions in Ireland. Bishop aims to be able to perform a stand-up comedy act as Gaeilge by the end of the stay. The theme tune is Floating by Jape.

Burying Brian is a New Zealand television series produced by Eyeworks Touchdown which premiered on Television New Zealand's TV ONE on 2 July 2008, and ran for 6 episodes. The series is about Jodie and her three female friends. At the beginning of the first episode, Jodie's husband Brian dies during a domestic dispute. Jodie believes that she may go to jail for his murder, but her friends convince her not to report the death, but instead to bury the body and make it appear that he has run off with another woman. Although the series was a ratings success, no further episodes were made after the first season.

It is made by independent production company Tiger Aspect Productions for Dave and made its debut on 27 October 2008. Series three was commissioned for Dave and four episodes from the second series aired on BBC Two, making it UKTV's most successful commission in terms of reach of audience. A fourth series began airing on Dave HD on 3 November 2011, with its second half still to be aired.

Pang Kam-Chau is left broke when his ex-girlfriend takes everything from him. Hearing a potential business opportunity with a local football team, he befriends the team coach and is given the title of operation director of the football team. Managing the team proves to be far more challenging than he expected when the players achieve poor grades at school. The football team sponsor wants to hire a famous cram school tutor, Kelly Yim Ka-Lai, to help players achieve higher results in the public examinations, but Kelly's teaching style is drastically different than Kam-Chau's and this results in comedic consequences.

Scallywagga is a British comedy sketch show, written by Stuart Kenworthy, who has worked on Green Wing and Smack the Pony. The executive producer of series one was Kenton Allen, and the producer was Jon Montague. The pilot episode aired on 21 March 2007 when the show was known as Spacehopper. Sally Lindsey confirmed on The Paul O'Grady Show that there would be a second series which was also filmed in and around Manchester, bringing on board a new Director and new Producer and several cast changes. The first series was broadcast on TV in 2008 and the DVD was released in early 2010 along with series 1. Series 2 began broadcasting on Tuesday 23 February 2010.

Paul plays Tony King, an aspiring actor who had come up with an idea for a reality show in the style of This Old House in which each episode focused on his making improvements to the home of a Hollywood celebrity. Each episode featured a celebrity playing himself or herself. Recurring themes include Tony's incompetence, his obsession with his ex-wife, and his simultaneous jealousy of and attraction for his co-host, Lila. Tony's ex-wife Rachael was played by Rachael Harris. Adam Paul and Rachael Harris were married in real life and they divorced soon after the initial broadcast of Hollywood Residential.

Monster House
Monster House was an Australian reality/comedy television series broadcast on the Nine Network. Debuting on 12 February 2008, the program was hosted by Bernard Curry, brother of Stephen and Andrew Curry. The show centred around the Webb family, played by actors Rebel Wilson, Celia Ireland, Travis Cotton, Jody Kennedy, Julie Herbert and Glenn Butcher, who act as a fictional family in a house purpose-built with hidden cameras to capture their performances and those of the unsuspecting guests who get brought into the family's "web". The show debuted with an unimpressive 793,000 viewers tuning in. It was pulled from schedules after its second episode, and axed by the network the following day. Nine had commissioned ten unaired episodes of the show, which were filmed in December 2007 and January 2008. Nine stated it would air the remaining episodes later in the year, and did so as counter-programming during the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Martha Speaks is a Canadian/American animated children's television series based on the 1992 children's book of the same name by Susan Meddaugh, about a talking dog named Martha, who is owned by ten-year-old Helen Lorraine. When Helen feeds Martha some alphabet soup, the soup travels to her brain instead of her stomach, resulting in her ability to speak. The show focuses on synonyms and vocabulary, with each episode featuring an underlying theme illustrated with key words. The show takes place in the fictional town of Wagstaff City, a parody of Flagstaff, Arizona. The show is produced by WGBH in Boston, along with Vancouver based animation studio DHX Media Vancouver, and debuted on September 1, 2008 on PBS Kids and PBS Kids Go! stations across the United States. Some episodes of this TV series were available for limited theatrical release on January 3, 2009. The second season began airing on September 14, 2009. The third season of Martha Speaks premiered on PBS Kids on October 11, 2010, and the fourth season began airing on February 20, 2012. In May 2013, PBS Kids renewed Martha Speaks for a fifth and sixth season of 8 new episodes each. The fifth season premiered on June 24, 2013.
