Synopsis
Two men, one mission. Andrew and Mat are old pals, and they share a great passion: the search for gold! In the Australian wilderness adventurers hoping for the big discovery. Prospectors Mat has operated there for over ten years, that is what "washing dirt" is called: He dredged tons of earth by a huge drum and washes out the fine gold. And Andrew is active in the outback at his side, because the German after several trips to the continent now is also an expert in Australia. On Mats mine the men live their dream of gold rush in Australia.
Episode 14 : Payment is Made in Gold

The self-made dredge does not yet work 100%. But it might be enough for a treasure hunt in a German gravel plant. However, Andreas has to develop a new technique to separate the precious metal from the sand. Mat, meanwhile, heads to the outback with his brother Rhien and his buddy Paul to dig up fat nuggets. And what about "Big Foot"? If the Australian gold digger can finish his wash plant faster than Andreas can finish his barn extension, he gets his beloved SUV back.
Episode 13 : Two Brothers with Gold Fever

The wash plant is ready. Andreas wants to use the dredge to search for precious metals in a gravel works in Germany. But does the machine keep what it promises? And does it create enough negative pressure to suck stones and soil out of the rivers in Australia? The first endurance test is sobering. Meanwhile, Mat and his brother Rhien roll up their sleeves on a goldfield on the Palmer River. The men Down Under are rewarded with a few nuggets for their efforts. But the yield is not enough to settle all outstanding accounts.
Episode 12 : Gold Wash Plant Made in Germany

After an accident in Australia, Mat tows away his wrecked SUV. The treasure hunter Down Under is supported by his brother Rhien and the experienced bush trucker Steve. But the campaign is not a sure-fire success. The truck carrying Mats Off Roader to the Palmer River camp gets stuck in deep sand. And Andreas wants to bring precious metal to light in a gravel plant in Germany. For this he needs the right equipment. Andreas' buddy Kai designs the largest gold panning facility that has ever been built in this country.
Episode 11 : Visit of an Alien

Mat has bills to pay in Australia. Two fat nuggets are just what he needs. The find eases the financial situation of the treasure hunter a little. But the lucky streak doesn't last long. Down under, the gold digger nods off at the wheel of his SUV and crashes the vehicle into an embankment. Although Mat is only slightly injured in the accident, his off-roader is completely destroyed. Meanwhile, Andreas is expanding his machine park in the Eifel region and is looking for precious metals in a friend's gravel works.

Farm instead of gold mine: Matthew Vaughan visits his best friend in Germany. On Andreas Macherey's farm, the men take care of his highland cattle. But the gold digger from Down Under is not used to winter temperatures around freezing. That's why Mat is drawn back to the Australian bush. If they lose, they will have to give up their beloved metal detector. But if they win, the gold digger will tell them the exact location.

Mat invests in a new business in Australia. The adventurer wants to dig up opals Down Under with his buddy Andreas and his son Tobi. The first search for clues was promising, which is why Mat acquired prospecting rights in the outback. Andreas and his son Tobi have returned Down Under to celebrate Mats' birthday in Longreach. The trip becomes a journey into the past, because in the birthplace of the gold digger, 1500 kilometres south of Cairns, the German adventurer Mat gets to know old buddies from their teenage years. And after the party, it's off to Treasure Hunting. The men in the state of Queensland are not after fat nuggets, but rather relics from Australia's history, such as coins from the 19th century.

Tobi was able to follow his father to Northern Queensland after the operation in Germany. And the wash plant works non-stop. That is why the gold diggers are optimistic about the future. But then Tobi sets off into the bush with a detector to look for nuggets there. The 19-year-old loses his bearings in the wilderness. And the next day, the investor announces himself on the phone. The first repayment is due. Can the adventurers get the missing 30 ounces of precious metal in time?

Ann and Harold is a very early BBC television programme, and ran for five episodes, all broadcast in 1938. It is known to be the world's first drama serial ever transmitted, and explained the trials of a couple named Ann and Harold respectively, and starred Ann Todd. Little else is known about this programme.
No material exists of the show today, as it was aired live before any means of recording programmes existed. In fact, it is unknown if even any photographs survive of this programme.
