Synopsis
Paranormal State is an American paranormal reality television series that premiered on the A&E Network on December 10, 2007. The program follows and stars the Pennsylvania State University Paranormal Research Society, a student-led college club. The show features the group's investigations of alleged paranormal phenomena at reportedly haunted locations.

PRS travels to rural Pennsylvania to investigate a haunting that began after a new couple moved into an old family farm. Over the next three days, hidden tragedies are uncovered, latent psychic abilities are revealed, and a son confronts a lifetime of loss through an emotional plea from beyond the grave.

But the client's five-year-old son also see spirits, and his sightings appear to line up with historical research into the home. Psychic/medium Michelle Belanger joins PRS for this case.

Ryan books a two-night case in a real haunted jail in Charleston, SC, but PRS soon realizes the spirits themselves are being held there against their will and subjected to an unjust form of torture. PRS goes on a "ghost tour" and immediately something doesn't feel right. Someone or something is being exploited and it's not the public paying admission for the guide-led tour. PRS must find a way to heal the long lasting wounds of social injustice that still linger amongst the spirits of slaves.

Once night falls in a quaint New England Town, a police officer's family is terrorized by demons. PRS arrives just in time with the family ready to vacate their family home, rather than suffer the advances of these spirit creatures.
