American Treasures is a reality television show on Discovery Channel. The series premiered on February 22, 2011 and features archaeology professors Dr. Jason De León and Dr. Kirk French, who often receive inquiries from everyday Americans who think they possess items that may have historical significance.

Kirk and Jason track down a beast believed to be the mythical bloodsucking chupacabra, investigate a bullet that may contain bone from Texas hero Sam Houston, and unwind the mystery of a cursed watch stolen from a dead outlaw.
Kirk and Jason head to New Orleans to investigate a trumpet linked to jazz great Louis Armstrong, and visit a Bourbon Street bar to solve mysteries surrounding a rare absinthe fountain, and have a first-hand encounter with the infamous "green fairy."
