Trailer Synopsis

Rockface is a British television drama series which was broadcast on BBC One from 2002 to 2003. It ran for two series: the first six episodes were broadcast from 13 March to 17 April 2002 on Wednesday nights; the second series of eight episodes ran from 25 May to 27 July 2003 on Sunday nights. The series is set in Glenntannoch, a fictitious town in the Scottish Highlands, and centres around a mountain rescue team led by Dr Gordon Urquhart. The major rescues and incidents in the series were based on real life rescues conducted by the Lochaber Mountain Rescue service.

This episode opens with Douglas doing exercises, he is obviously thinking about going back on rescues, though Helen is not so keen. The first rescue involves a hand gliding accident. The hand glider is caught on cables. The second rescue involves a couple who have been rambling, the man has fallen into the waterfall.

Episode 2 - Episode 8
June. 01,2003

Mike is driving along to the tune ‘The Boys Are Back in Town'. He stops to give rope and equipment from his shop to a construction team who are setting up an aerial. Meanwhile two men from the same team are driving along when their land rover goes off the road and down a cliff. Mike goes to the rescue. Doug has got the all clear to go back on rescues again. Helen is not pleased about this. He goes with Ben and Annie on the second rescue involving a climber who has fallen down a mountain whilst stealing falcon eggs. Annie goes to see Ben to see why he is avoiding her.

Episode 3 - Episode 9

This episode opens with Doug having another nightmare about climbing. There is only one rescue in this episode, but we return to Adam, the amputee from last week's rescue. Caroline witnesses his fiancée rejecting him. The rescue involves a man Duncan, who is found walking, with cuts to his face and in a daze by Peter and Ben out together for a run.

The rescue involves two climbers who fall down a rock. The wife of one of them can't get through to her husbands mobile phone and alerts the rescue team. Mike decides to make a video for a dating agency and Caroline films him. Jamie goes to see them. Caroline needs her annual assessment by Peter, but Jamie tells her that he has been asked to do it instead. Helen wonders why Doug is so moody and cold towards her and Jane suggests that he is still affected by his fall.

We open with Jamie and his friend Ian Baxter taking part in a cross country cycle race. They get into an argument, Ian falls down the rocks into the river below and Jamie climbs down to help and falls himself.

Episode 6 - Episode 12

This episode begins with 4 teenagers who wander into a drain that belongs to an old dam to have a ‘party'. There is a storm and water seeps into the drain. One of them manages to swim out and alerts the rescue team. One of the boys is Jason Farinelli, Betty's son and Annie says that the others are in the sixth form at the school where she teaches.

Episode 7 - Episode 13
July. 13,2003

In this the penultimate episode the rescue involves 2 women, one who is blind and one who is partially sighted. Their leader Graham tells Danny where their route will be and they set off. Graham has a heart attack and the women are left alone. Foolishly the partially sighted woman wanders off, believing that they have more chance of being rescued that way.

Episode 8 - Episode 14
July. 27,2003

Douglas and Gordon are involved in a serious accident together. The episode opens with the snow falling that we saw at the end of the previous episode. We realise that the conditions are treacherous and the team hears that there has been an avalanche, two young people who have been skiing are missing.
