Lightflight
In 1953 Herbert Tobias was the first German photographer to work for Vogue in Paris. He was expelled from France in the same year however on account protesting during a raid at a gay venue in the French capital. Success and failure were always Herbert Tobias’ twin companions. Having taken his first photographs as a soldier in the German army, after the war he worked as an actor and fell in love. After coming out in 1950, he escaped arrest by going to Paris where he found refuge at Willy Maywald’s studio. His initial success as a photographer was swiftly followed by his expulsion. Moving to Heidelberg, he competed successfully with 18,000 contestants to win a newspaper photography competition run by the Frankfurter Illustrierte. Tobias was on top again; much in demand as a photographer, his work was shown at exhibitions and he was also the subject of articles. This film illuminates the life and work of this artist in all its breadth and diversity.

Sengadal
Dhanushkodi, the Indo-Sri Lankan border town, is the crucible wherein History is brewing this concoction of defeated lives and exhausted dreams. Manimekalai, the filmmaker, Soori, a half-wit Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee, Munusamy, the fisherman, Rosemary, the social worker in Jesuit Christian Refugee Services, try hard to retain their sanity in this mad jumble. Their interactions with the dead or living refugees, their skirmishes with the Indian and Sri Lankan States, their personal lives overrun by external events - form the kernel of this narration.

The Spade County Massacre
Years ago "The Order of Attollo" ravaged the small community of Spade County. It was through the brave leadership of Sheriff Stone Williams that eventually brought the end to the order. Recently, several teenagers were found dead with no leads and nothing other than several bizarre pieces of evidence. The Spade County Massacre, as it came to be called remained a mystery. Sheriff Stone Williams' investigation concluded the murders were committed by Charlie Zorborski, a disturbed teenager who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Today, Sheriff Stone Williams searches for answers to new bizarre and grisly crimes have resurfaced in Spade County. While the sheriff's department has no answers, the public fears The Order of Attollo has returned, others point the finger at Doug Porter. Porter, who has become an outcast, is forced to make a decision. He must either finally leave Spade County once and for all or prove his innocence.

The lines of Hamlet in the terror of war attain cruel authenticity and open the eternal question - is human capable of escaping from himself.
