It Is My Fault
The digital age has given birth to a new reality: infinite screen time. Rather than experiencing the natural world around us, our intake of communication, ideas, visuals, and sounds is packaged via a series of zeros and ones, waiting neatly for us to consume. This screen-dependent existence is even more prevalent and maddening for the modern-day creative. Beyond entertainment, so many artists rely on screens for work — using digital tools to create more digital experiences that are designed to be digested through yet another screen. It creates a loop that at times feels paralyzing and inescapable.
Peace To You All
The journey of the photographer and the phenomenon of authenticity across the war-torn environment of Donbas with the aim of connecting the various actors of the conflict in their unusual and interesting stories. They are emotional micro-stories of people from both sides of the front line, which move the plot through the panorama of the country's tragedy, in which all defense mechanisms leading to the establishment of permanent peace fail. The trenches divide families, change destinies and bring depression and uncertainty.
9/11: Fifteen Years Later
Go inside the chaos and courage of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York in "9/11", updated fifteen years later by the original filmmakers. As the only documentary footage from inside the Twin Towers, the film is a gripping minute-by-minute account of that harrowing day through the lens of French filmmakers and brothers, Gédéon and Jules Naudet, and firefighter James Hanlon. The 2016 edition features a new intro from Denis Leary, who is closely aligned with advocacy for first responders. The updated material focuses on the ongoing health issues that 9/11 firefighters have battled, and the inspiring stories of “legacy kids” — women and men who lost loved ones in the attack and have since become firefighters.

The Trick or Treaters
On the night of October 30, 2012, several people were attacked and murdered within their homes. The shocking events of that night were documented on two video cameras. During a mellow pre-Halloween night of drinks, pranks and old horror films, Amy and Jake film a last minute schedule video for their school's annual Halloween fundraiser, but they are quickly interrupted by a strange group of trick or treaters, also equipped with a video camera. What Amy and Jake think is a prank by their friends, they ignore the strange interruption and continue with their night. As strange things continue to occur and escalate to an extreme level, the students quickly discover that they are dealing with dark individuals, and they don't want candy. BeSound took a chance to film one of these factories during our factory inspections and surveys in Dongguan - the so called manufacturing center of China. We met and interviewed a few factory workers there. Most of them are incredibly young, and belong to the so called ‘post-90s generation’ (born later than 1990). This generation, as a result of China’s one child policy, has traditionally been claimed as ‘the little emperors’, spoiled hugely by their parents. But when they come to work and live in the factory, what is there waiting for them? Difficulties, hope, helplessness, or a better future?

A Story of Sahel Sounds
The film is about a project from Christopher Kirkleys called "Sahel Sounds". He owns an independent label and travels through the Sahel area in Africa, to find musician with an unique sound. The music he uses for his vinyl publication is often in low audio quality but authentic. The plot shows the whole process, from negotiating a fair deal with musician to producing the vinyl. He also organizes European tours, in the movie he is on a trip with Mamman Sani and Mdou Moctar, two musician who were found by Kirkleys in Niger.

What happens when 300 lesbians from around the world attend the largest United Nations conference? How did two busloads of lesbians headed to an underground nightclub help spark the birth of a lala (LBT) movement in China? At the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, the first ever lesbian tent at an UN NGO Forum was created. Emerging from hidden shadows of shame and invisibility, Chinese lalas began a hard-fought path of deliverance from themselves, from family, and from an apprehensive environment. In doing so, they sought empowerment and change as they explored concepts and issues from self-affirmation to rights consciousness. The film powerfully moves forward to the present day and shows the drastic change in today’s young feminist lalas – their challenging of sexism and homophobia with daring public street actions on subways – a parallel action to their forerunners in 1995, with much vigor and defiance 20 years later.
