Last June, I encountered Arno, a twenty-year-old man, with whom I immediately fell in love. To be sure that I’d see him, although he didn’t share my feelings, I proposed that we work together on a project that became "Compilation, 12 instants d’amour non partagé". Through summer, from June 21 to September 21, I asked him to come to my house daily to listen to music. This music would become the only dialog between us. It would be the commentary of the evolution of my feelings for him, would drive him into a corner, caress and take him by surprise.

Postman Pat: Go Kart Race
The villagers hold a go-kart race. Various fathers get over-excited about the race and cheat by adding electric engines, borrowed from Ted, to their kart. Pat and the children construct a proper pedal-kart with a wind-sail for extra speed (using natural power is not against the rules). At the race the adults tear off in their karts, leaving Julian gamely bringing up the rear but the adults discover that their engines can’t be stopped and PC Selby soon finds himself hurtling towards Greendale Crag. Pat leaps into the go-kart with Julian, fixes the windsail on the back, and rushes off after PC Selby. They are able to divert him at the last minute from the edge of the crag and he goes hurtling into a big pile of manure. Pat and the kids collect the prize for the best go-kart and all the Dads are disqualified for cheating.

In this film, Walker employs paper silhouettes, archival photographs, and other imagery to examine the history and long aftermath of slavery in the United States. Drawing on references to that history, the 2003 Darfur genocide, and the American South, she uses silhouettes, a nineteenth-century portrait technique, to reflect on issues of identity, race, and violence. The brightly colored backgrounds and country-inflected banjo soundtrack create a sense of spectacle that is at odds with the violence experienced by the figures, reminding viewers that images of black bodies in pain continue to be a source of entertainment under white supremacy. This contact leads the fingers to invent new means of working, it leads the hand to rethink its handling techniques, up to the instrumentalisation of the smallest muscle.
