James Bell's experimental film edits a stream of video full of the idiosyncrasies we have all seen living amongst the so called 99% of the American population - aka shit kicking uneducated red-necks who get drunk, use food stamps to buy cigarettes, gossip about dead co-workers, and try to make baby birds fly before they are physically able. The film follows various individuals as they go through the different stages of their day. Some of these people clearly have some sort of mental disabilities, physical disabilities, and possible drug or alcohol problems. That also references the film’s alternate title The Great White Apocalypse.

Today, there are over 800 young Afghan women imprisoned for so-called 'moral crimes.' These crimes include running away from unlawful forced marriages and domestic violence, or simply falling in love and marrying against a father's wishes. This is the story of one of these women. When Soheila was only five, she was given away in marriage to an old man in compensation for her older brother's crime: stealing his young third wife. When she ran away from the abusive marriage, her father had her arrested and imprisoned. Soheila is finally freed by an amnesty decreed by President Karzai. We meet her again in a safe house in Kabul where she is protected from the father and brother who threaten to kill her if she attempts to rejoin the father of her child. The father also demands that she kill her three year-old son to restore the family's honor.
BenCinta
Nora Danish headlines the film as the lead actress in "Bencinta", which is actually derived from the words "benci" and "cinta" in Malay, translated to hate and love, respectively. The film tells the story of a newly wedded couple whose relationship sours when Faizal, the rich husband, begins having affairs and turns abusive. Trapped in the destructive marriage due to conservative societal values, Fathia runs away to Langkawi and takes refuge with her best friend. Before they realise it, the two fall in love, but Fathia first has to deal with her husband.

Widespread Panic: Live at Family Circle Stadium Charleston
Widespread Panic took the stage at the Family Circle Stadium in South Carolina for the first night of their two night run. After warming up with a killer set by openers Umphrey's McGee, the Charleston crowd was ready to rock and the stadium bleachers were packed with Spreadheads rising all the way up to the sky! The opening notes of Ribs and Whiskey brought on an uproar from the energetic fans and gave JB a chance to showcase a bluesy slide guitar riff.

"A MAN’S RAVE" documentary is a penetrating journey into his idiosyncrasy, his struggle for survival, his unfulfilled plans, his memories, and his passion for electronic dance music or Rave as it’s often called. Strato’s butcher shop is not an ordinary store where customers just go and buy meat, but rather a place where once you enter, it feels like you’re in a party of the early Rave scene. The loud music, the lights and the rhythms create an atmosphere that gives the butchery a totally new dimension.

A boat has many powers: to gather a society in its making, to distribute goods, to carry people and ideas across places that, it seems to us, are more different than ever before. From Gulf to Gulf to Gulf is a result of four years of dialogue, friendship and exchange between CAMP and a group of sailors from the Gulf of Kutch. Their travels and those of co-seafarers from Sindh, Baluchistan, and Southern Iran through the gulfs of Persia and Aden show us a world cut into many pieces, not easily bridged by nostalgics or nationalists. Instead, we follow the physical crossings made by these groups of people who make and sail wooden boats and who also make videos, sometimes with songs married to them.

On the Edge is a short film that documents the social changes occurring around the Olympic fringe, providing local communities with a platform to voice their unheard opinions. We spent a number of weeks in the Olympic boroughs, interviewing people, and gaging their thoughts on the regeneration program that is occurring rapidly in the East End of London.

The eye operates with such amazing precision that individual film frames can be read. Nevertheless, when the content in their sequence becomes too different, the perception of the actually projected content is stretched to its limits. Shown in individual frames, the alphabet is something we can only assume while placing trust in its reproduction. The 25 frames per second are rendered a visual challenge. Additionally, as the spoken alphabet is condensed into one second, it loses its contours. The story, however, still remains complete; it is interpreted, which makes for the beauty of this film: Not everything needs to be perceived or shown, we fill in the missing parts through interpretation in our heads.
