Celtic Frost - A Dying God
Summer 2006: The Swiss heavy metal band Celtic Frost hasn’t given a concert in sixteen years. Now they are standing on the stage of the largest heavy metal festival in the world in Wacken, Germany. Sixty thousand fans are celebrating the return of a legend. Celtic Frost, one of the few world-famous Swiss bands, is back! This documentary film accompanies the band on their comeback tour through Europe, the U.S.A. and Japan. It is a journey to the heart of darkness, of extreme metal and the band members’ attempt to live up to their own legend.
The Bike Detectives
Young Leon is new in town and wants to fit in. He tries to join a local club of self-styled sleuths called the “Mountain Bike Detective Club,” but he’s got a problem—his bike isn’t cool enough for the group and he doesn’t have enough money for a better one. It is the early 1980's. Ten-year-old Rasmus is tired of his parents never listening to him and decides to run away from home. But before leaving he records a cassette tape with different advice on how to handle life. His mother is pregnant and he plans to leave the tape for his unborn brother.
Alison Watt: Phantom
Alison Watt became the National Gallery's Seventh Associate Artist in 2006. This art film records her two-year residency, as she created paintings inspired by masterpieces in the National Gallery. She already had a lifelong attachment to paintings in the collection, yet the prolonged contact, particularly with Saint Francis in Meditation by Francisco de Zurbarán, led her to notice new details and unexpected nuances which influenced her own art. Through a series of interviews with Watt, this art film documents the formation of this exhibition, with particular emphasis on the creative process.
Animal Husbandry

Horsemen
Located at an altitude of 2 miles, the Chinese village of Songpan benefited for centuries from the trade route to the Tibetan plateau, which was travelled on horseback. Horses still play a key role in Songpan, but a lot has changed since China opened its doors to the rest of the world. Stimulated by the authorities, tourism has grown into an important business. The inhabitants of Songpan discuss their situation for the camera, talking about money, or rather the lack of it. Tourism can be lucrative, but the rich are getting richer and the poor remain at least as poor. Apart from a South Korean immigrant who discusses her integration in Islamic culture, most people in Songpan concentrate on how to go about making a living. They talk about the price of things, how to get more tips from tourists, and how hard it is to save anything.

Richard Serra: Man of Steel
Sculptor and giant of modern art Richard Serra discusses his extraordinary life and work. A creator of enormous, immediately identifiable steel sculptures that both terrify and mesmerise, Serra believes that each viewer creates the sculpture for themselves by being within it. To this end, a Japanese family are reminded of the Temples of Kyoto, a Londoner finds sanctuary in the Serra near Liverpool Street station, and most movingly, a Holocaust survivor sees one piece as a wall separating the living from the dead. Contributors include Chuck Close, Philip Glass and Glenn D Lowry, Director of MoMA.

Health Bus at the Red Light District
In the streets of Geneva, a stationary bus is open three nights a week for any person practising prostiution, regularly or occasionally. Street sexworkers come in to get free condoms, seringues and other risk reduction material, but mostly they come to talk and exchange. Welcomed by social workers, nurses and/or cultural mediators whos motto is the non-judgnmental attitude, they come to and stay for a few minutes in a warm environement before going back to work in the streets. This film is the outcome of an audio-visual work, conducted within a global research on prostitution at the Departement of Sociology of Geneva University.
