Seven Slaves Against the World
Tribune Marcus Aulus, out of favor in Rome because of his alleged sympathy for Christians, arrives to take charge of an aqueduct project on the hot, arid fringes of the Empire. Centurion Gaius, cruel and corrupt, resents being replaced by Marcus. He instigates a revolt by his slave-workers, then blames the situation on Marcus. During the revolt, five muscular slaves escape. They meet up with fellow escapee Balisten, a farmer unjustly condemned to the aqueduct project. Balisten, impressed by Marcus's enlightened attitudes, has rescued the Tribune from the revolt. The six slaves, with Marcus's advice, plan to gain their freedom using their prowess as gladiators. Marcus plans to clear his name and to re-unite with his fiancée, Claudia, recently arrived from Rome. Gaius plans to kill Marcus and thus hide the truth about the slave revolt. Brawls and fights both inside and outside the arena come thick and fast.

The Wedding Day
Master Maeng is very proud that an influential family will soon be his esteemed in-laws when his loving daughter, Mi-yeon, marries their son. Unexpectedly the future son-in-law shows up at the wedding hall and he is not a cripple, but a healthy and handsome youth. Feeling embarrassed, there is no way but to wed the maid to him. The Wedding Day is a recreation of A Happy Day of Jinsa Maeng, a comical play by Oh Yeong Jin. The first Korean film to win an international film award, the Best Comedy Award at the 1957 edition of the Asian Film Festival (now Asia Pacific Film Festival).
Pompeii and the Roman Villa

The film concludes with the story of the discovery of Pompeii and Herculaneum from the 18th century onward.

Operation Peter Pan: Flying Back to Cuba
Between 1960 and 1962 more than 14,000 cuban children were sent alone by their parents to the USA. This clandestine operation -with the participation of the CIA and the Catholic Church- became known as "Operation Peter Pan". Many of the parents had expected to follow their children, who had been granted visa waivers by the US government, but the Missile Crisis terminated the flights between the two countries and the children found themselves stranded in the USA. In 2009, for the first time a group of the Peter Pan children, now adults visited Cuba to give "closure and make peace with the land where they were born".

Algeria 1943: A Colony Under Vichy Control
World War II, June 1940. France has fallen and suffers the relentless boot of Nazi Germany. In the summer of 1918, the situation in Transcaspia was especially difficult. The Menshevik government led by Funtikov seized power. Only the fortress city of Kushka remains Soviet. The garrison went over to the Bolshevik side. Large reserves of weapons and ammunition are concentrated in the fortress, which especially attracts the Mensheviks and the British who help them. The commander of the garrison, the former tsarist general Vostrosablin, decides not to surrender the fortress. To do this, he and Commissar Morgunov are developing a defense plan. White Colonel Zykov, with the support of the Basmachi and the British, hopes to take Kushka. But the tough confrontation between the parties ends with the victory of the defenders of the fortress.
