Sarcas Circa 2020
After facing failure in almost every venture, Mr. F and Mr. J, two friends from a small town in Kerala embark on an adventurous journey to a nearby city. Mr. F receive a call from a stranger who persuades them to take up and finish a task. The stranger promises upon the completion of the task they will make a fortune putting an end to their drag ordinary lives. Continuous failures in Mr. F's life has allowed him to arrive at his own philosophy and insists that we are living in peculiar times surrounded by samasya (riddles). Those who offer help/work/money, in short, people with power have choices and those who receive have none. Ironically, Mr. F in his personal relationship with Mr. J seems to have forgotten his own philosophy. Leaving no space for agency or autonomy Mr. F drags his innocent and obedient friend (Mr. J) into a huge mess from which three is no going back.
Iphigenia: No more tears
A person, in the case of "Iphigenia" a girl, sacrifices part or even her whole ego to become a member of a new social ensemble and specifically of the social ensemble of her future husband. The film is inspired by the theater of the absurd and mainly by theatrical texts by Ionesco and Pinter but also by the original myth of Iphigenia which symbolizes sacrifice.
The City. Loneliness. And You
The young Michalis returns to his father's house. He feels isolated from everyone and everything, but he tries to get back into his old everyday life. Returning to his city seems difficult and Michalis faces moments of intense loneliness and confusion due to a recent breakup. Everything in his mind is disturbed by his return to the city as his concerns increase and he comes to the conclusion that he must turn to himself. A life in a day. A man in the middle of a pandemic, decides to return home on foot, wanting to avoid the trolley full of people, thinking that with this choice he will be invincible. Omission of the useless moment in the rhythm of the movement. But who knew that on this route he would come face to face with familiar situations of our everyday life that we pretend not to see. Consequence of security situations. Just another biped. A poor ending and the end of a wish.
