Contrapunctus V
In a world where the border between work and free time is increasingly blurred, the time when we sleep and dream may be the last area completely free of work. We are (often voluntarily) trying to change that. Many try to sleep less (to different and sometimes extreme degrees, like those experimenting with polyphasic sleep) in order to work more, often motivated by the productivity mindset. A correlation has been observed between lack of sleep or disruption of sleeping patterns and the onset of dementia.

Questionnaire
The film depicts rather carefree times in Ukraine and is set in 2005-2006, when people still enjoyed questionnaires and home parties instead of social networks, played in bands instead of founding startups, embraced their youth instead of going through horrors of war. That period of Ukraine’s history has not been represented much on screen and the resurrection of videos that documented life as it is with no staging shows human nature authentically barefaced.
Broken Ties
The film Broken Ties, by independent Russian filmmaker Andrei Loshak, is an unflinching portrayal of families divided by war. It features seven different pairings, whose members speak periodically with Loshak, one-to-one, to explain their points of view. Their conversations extend over the war's first three months, during which time their opinions evidence no change. The film makes no attempt at dialogue -- on the contrary, it is a testimony to the absence of dialogue amidst an unfolding war, and an unsentimental diagnosis of the sickness of a society in which official propaganda proves stronger than even the most intimate family ties.
