In a village in West Africa where dreams play a key role, the hosts of local radio interpret the oniric visions of their listeners. The language of dreams is spoken here. The limits between the real and the fantastic blur, and time is suspended.
A Very Animated War
From 1945 to 1989, after the capitulation of Nazi Germany, two rival ideologies, communism and capitalism, faced each other in a merciless battle.
On one side of the Iron Curtain and on the other, throughout the Cold War, the USSR and the United States sought to shape children’s imaginations through their magazines and films. Never in the history of mankind have so many comic books been published and so many cartoons produced for young people.
In November 1989, communism collapsed with the Berlin Wall; capitalism was left to decide the future of the world. What if this victory had been prepared for a long time, and our thinking conditioned, from our early childhood, to ensure this absolute triumph?
The Old Believers: Saga
This is the story of a Brazilian-Uruguayan family of Old Believers who consider themselves Russian. Alexey Kilin, whose ancestors were once forced to flee from Soviet power to South America, returned to his homeland in the Amur Region and is waiting for his ex-wife Agripina and their son Demyan after 13 years of separation. The attempt at reuniting fails. Nevertheless Agripina decides not to return to Brazil, but to stay in an unfamiliar homeland, in a city with the symbolic name of Svobodny (which means ‘free’ in Russian).
My Name is Clotilda
After rediscovering an old camcorder at the age of 22, a women pieces together her journeys of friendship, self-image and passion using footage taken over the course of her life. Through the process of her discovery, she recognizes parallels between her younger self and her current self. This is the story of her finding what she didn’t know was lost in the first place.
In a Whisper
An intimate and revealing autoethnographic documentary about uprootedness, motherhood, love of film, friendship and freedom. Two filmmakers who have been best friends since childhood, both part of the Cuban diaspora, share their intimate and emotional journey while they try to find themselves and each other in a foreign land.

These unexperienced volunteers take on an adventure that will change their lives forever.
Breaking the Sound Barrier
On October 14, 1947, Captain Chuck Yeager accomplished what many thought was impossible: he broke the sound barrier and in doing so, changed aviation history forever. Behind this remarkable achievement was a dedicated team of rocket scientists and engineers, and one incredible plane, a Bell X-1 named "Glamorous Glennis." This is the story of the plane and the people who dared to travel faster than the speed of sound, pushing flight science forward and proving that no matter the barrier, humanity can find a way to break through.
The Dakota Entrapment Tapes
In a sleepy North Dakota town, where the crime rate is so low people often don’t lock their front doors, 20-year-old college student Andrew Sadek mysteriously disappears in May 2014 and is found dead almost two months later. What Andrew’s friends and family didn’t know was that in the months before his death, he had been coerced into becoming an informant for an aggressive police task force that had been secretly operating for years. As details of Andrew’s double life are revealed, the cover of the shadowy program is blown, laying bare the collusion and abuse of power of local law enforcement at all levels. Surviving Supercon

Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth To Power
With unique access to a sitting member of Congress, this documentary tells the complex story of Rep. Barbara Lee, a steadfast voice for human rights, peace, and economic and racial justice in Congress who cut her teeth as a volunteer for the Black Panther Party and was the lone vote in opposition to the broad authorization of military force following the September 11th attacks.
The Passing On
Three professions ushered Black former slaves from poverty to the American dream: preacher, teacher, and undertaker. Today, renowned embalmer James Bryant puts his faith in a new generation to continue this vanishing legacy. However, his young intern, Clarence Pierre, meets him with resistance, conflicted about his commitment to carrying on embalming traditions and the judgment he feels from the Black community as a queer, Christian man. Taking place in the oldest Black funeral home in San Antonio, this poetic documentary examines the waning tradition of African American funeral homes.

Ideologies of Home
The definition of a “home” is an illusive term for it may be a place of permanence or impermanence, or may even be a memory. South African filmmaker, Deon Kay, is naturalized in America and in this striking video essay he converges old home footage, news coverage and text with contemporary images that move between South Africa and the United States, drawing parallels between the problems each country faces. South Africans have looked abroad to make Europe or America their new home, evading the inherent issues of racism, xenophobia, inequality and corruption in South Africa. When arriving at the same point that you hoped to depart from, nostalgia becomes a tricky slope as wishing for home may make you realise this was an unachievable reality all along.
Kmêdeus
The intriguing story of a mysterious homeless eccentric called Kmêdeus (EatGod) who lived on the island of São Vicente, Cabo Verde. To some he was a lunatic, to others an artist. But to all, he was and still is a mystery. António Tavares, an important contemporary dancer from Cabo Verde, made an exceptional performance piece based on the life and inner worlds of Kmêdeus. He takes us on a trip through his hometown of Mindelo, the island's music and films, and the celebration of the its annual carnival. It thus becomes a search for the root aspects of one of the oldest Creole communities in the world. Kmêdeus was made by the Cape Verdean film collective Negrume.
Eddy's Kingdom
Eddy Haymour is a barber, an eccentric entrepreneur, a psychiatric patient, a kidnapper, and a hostage taker. A controversial character, he has been called both madman and visionary. Our 90 minute documentary, Eddy's Kingdom, chronicles the saga of Haymour's obsession with creating an island theme park in Kelowna BC, which culminated in a hostage taking in Lebanon. His present day quest is to confront the current BC government and get the island back in his possession. At his side is his daughter Fadwa, the only family member who still talks to him.

A lesson in parenting
Bibi and Begbo are a very strange couple. Bibi always walks around covered in band-aids and Begbo wears clothes that are definitely not his size, and also he throws up whenever he gets upset. Despite this, they seem to get by pretty well with their every day life. But what is most startling is their son Albin - who looks like he is a lot older than four years old. In this absurd drama-comedy we follow the family's life coping with being different from everybody else and as well trying to raise their son.

This film was created as a gift for our loved ones while we were all in isolation. The sole utility of the piece is to brighten up your day and to bring you back to the little pleasures of childhood. Filmed and in-camera edited in Super 8mm by Rocio Mesa with an original soundtrack by Landon Caldwell. Spring 2020.

OINK!
Featuring interviews recorded in Los Angeles and Berlin in 2019/20, the experimental documentary short OINK! offers a portrait of gay men who—in different ways—relate to the gay “pig” sexual imaginary. The film provides insight into their experiences of identity, masculinity, community, belonging, sexual pleasure and intimacy, as they are co-shaped and framed by 21st-century media.
Worlds Apart
In 2012, violent conflicts broke out between the Muslim Rohingya and the Buddhist majority in Rakhine State on the west coast of Myanmar. The government subsequently deported Muslims and imprisoned them in a camp on the outskirts of the city. The documentary looks at the lives of neighbours on both sides.
