Turkish Delight
Turkish Delight
Turkish Delight follows the story of the production of lokum (Turkish Delight), one of the most emblematic delicacies of Turkish culinary culture, that extends from Western Anatolia to the Greek island of Syros. Known as ’rahat-ul hulkum’ in Arabic and ’lokoumi’ in Greek, ’lokum’ came to be called as ’Turkish Delight’ at the end of the 19th century, when nationalist policies were introduced, and became the breadbasket for refugees fleeing the war that would soon begin. The film tells part of the story of Syros, which was built with the labour of Greek (Rum in Turkish) refugees from Anatolia and the islands, and focuses on the forced separation of peoples who lived together for centuries.

Ukraine Overcoming the Darkness
Ukraine Overcoming the Darkness
The kaleidoscope of stories shines a light on Ukrainians bravely defending their land against the Russian invasion, where millions struggle for their right to exist. A compendium of short films, this is highlights the full tragedy that followed the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. It charts the course of the Russian progression across the country through the lives and communities of those affected by the wide-scale aggression, alongside those fighting for their land. The film details the force of the assault, but its primary focus lies with the strength of the communities that have had to endure unimaginable hardships but who remain resilient in the face of such oppression. It joins an increasing number of ground-level films documenting the reality of this modern tragedy. Initially, the film did not contain an indication of the directors and cinematography team, which was indicated as a team of authors of "KINODOPOMOHA".

This video essay focuses on the landscapes of the Sonoran Desert—and the project of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico—as a way of investigating the manner in which something as seemingly generic as a wall can take on particular political and affective forms. This short provocation explores the ways that violent and distasteful objects create, and subsequently come to characterize, malevolent spectacles.

Pacifique, à la rencontre du Costa Rica
Pacifique, à la rencontre du Costa Rica
We are living in a crucial moment in the history of humanity, where not only the configuration of the future, but the very possibilities of survival are being decided. A fundamental change in our relationship with nature is the only way out of this emergency. The notions of domination, control and exploitation should give way to those of cohabitation, partnership, synergy and pacification. For a small Central American country, this is already a reality. Indeed, Costa Rica is the third country in the world to have abolished the death penalty in 1877, then abolished its army in 1948. The army's budget was transferred to education and the protection of biodiversity. Today, 25% of its territory is classified as a park or nature reserve and the country is home to 6% of the world's biodiversity, for an area of 0.03%. It is through the example of Costa Rica that we want to demonstrate that it is possible to be PACIFIC with the Earth, to safeguard biodiversity.
