This semi-fictional short film follows the protagonist to Prague and explores how the medium of film can access the memories of a city. The film is based on the family history of the director, who fled Czechoslovakia after the Warsaw Pact invasion of 1968.

Jeune cinéma
Jeune Cinéma is a footage film documentary about the famous yet forgotten Hyères Film Festival which took place from 1965 to 1983. It was at that time the most important in France just after the glamorous Cannes Film Festival and a friendly place to discover young directors such as Gilles Garrel, Akerman, Helma Sanders, Schroeter or Carax before they became a legend for the art-house film amateurs. Hyères was a vivid space for passionate debates, incredible polemics and above all surprising encounters. In a word, it was THE place to be for all the cinephiles. If it suddenly disappeared in 1983, it is not only because of internal and political conflicts but also for an unfair competition with Cannes. The « Perspectives » section at Cannes, widely inspired by Hyères, was attracting those same young talents discovered there. My personal history as a filmmaker is deeply tied to the “Collectif Jeune Cinéma”, which was in charge of the “Cinéma Différent” section.

The documentary "Shipwright" tells the story of two old shipbuilders and Macao's shipbuilding industry. Macau used to have a brilliant shipbuilding industry, which peaked in the 1970s and 1980s. However, with the decline of the local fishery and changes in government policies, Macao's shipbuilding industry gradually declined until the last fishing boat was launched at the Lizhiwan Shipyard in 2006, marking the complete demise of Macao's shipbuilding industry. The once-prosperous Lizhiwan The shipyard was also in ruins. In such a big environment, the older generation of shipbuilders changed their job content for the sake of survival, love and ideals, hoping to give more light and heat to the inheritance of Macao's shipbuilding industry.

Lockdown Diaries
Over the course of a year and a half, Jeff Zorrilla, obsessively shot scenes from his everyday life during the pandemic. Even though it quickly takes the form of a diary, the film also mutates into other forms, such as the epistolary, but always through collage, through the superimposition and juxtaposition of figures, colors and lights. Narrated from that melancholy, familiar sense given by the texture of 16mm stock, Lockdown Diaries explores fears, illusion, disillusion and, especially, the great changes in the life of Jeff and his family. From the uncertainty of that March, 2020, including a series of existential crisis and finally reaching a radical change in his life project, the film takes us, through a frenzied, consciously chaotic and, at the same time, intimate montage on one of the many lives affected by these strange times we’re still trying to figure out.
