No Desire to Hide
The film shows the ordinary lives of young people in China, with all their romantic problems, unfulfilled dreams and existential crises that are interwoven into everyday dialogues and conversations with the director. The two central protagonists try to function in an open relationship, which suits only one of the partners, while the other suffers and longs for a family life. The possibility of emigration to America is a hope, but it is gradually receding due to the worsening political situation. The camera captures even the most intimate moments and puts the viewer in the position of a voyeur observing the exposed bodies and souls.

Made during COVID-19 lockdown with limited resources, "HE SAID / SHE SAID" incorporates a series of reaction shots repurposed from the artist's collection of 16mm found footage to create a reflection on the world at large during a time of introspection, concern, and anxiety. The exchange of gazes evoke a gendered and racialized undercurrent. The footage was optically printed and hand processed into a single film print using expired hi-con film stock.
Planktonium
Nature’s wonders not visible to the naked eye are revealed in a documentary shot through a microscope lens. It shows to the viewer various kinds of plankton, a ubiquitous form of life, without which life on Earth wouldn’t exist. The vivacious movements of the water microorganisms are accompanied by the music of Jana Winderen, a Norweigan artist, composed using the sounds of water organisms, waves and icebergs.
