Good thing God never says anything unusual to Hermie. Uh-oh… suddenly there's room for doubt. What possible need would the Garden Gang have for a boat? It hasn't rained in ages. Isn't it good enough to believe God once-why do we have to keep on trusting Him time after time? Hermie and the High Seas teaches the lesson based on Jesus' words from the mountain-side in Matthew 6 about relying on God to care for our every need.

Immokalee U.S.A.
Every season, tens of thousands of migrant farmworkers converge on small communities like Immokalee, Florida where they plant and harvest the food that Americans consume. A vast majority of these workers are undocumented, leaving them at the mercy of the large agribusinesses who hire them, the crew leaders who contract them and the landlords and businesses that profit from the seasonal arrival of migrant workers. Their "undocumented" legal status allows for a system of exploitation that leaves workers and their families to endure conditions and wages that rarely meet international human rights standards. Immokalee U.S.A. documents these daily experiences, leading the viewer to examine their own role in the issues migrant workers face in the U.S.A.

Black 47 at Connolly's: New Year's Eve in Times Square
What began as a Black 47 performance, shot at Connolly's pub in New York City's most vibrant hub, Times Square, on that locale's biggest day of the year, New Year's Eve, turned into something much more. Using early footage of "the best live band on the planet," interviews with band members and the audience, and the riotous performance itself, Black 47 at Connolly's weaves together a history of the band's beginnings, and by extension, a rich underlay of Irish-American history and the Diaspora.

Metaphysics of Sound
Adopting mainly hand contact printing with photographic enlarger, «Metaphysics of sound» started from September of 2006 and completed in July of 2007. With a 35mm soundtrack image, I made a hand-drawn soundtrack on the 16mm film strip. The sounds were made either by directly contact printing the 35mm sound tracks or collaging the scratch images. According to pattern of sound on the 20% blank of 16mm film strip (normally used as space for optical recording), I edited whole image and made structure of film. Hence the margin is a where image is sound, and vice versa. Later, I studied the sound patterns which varied according to the kinds of images used or the concentration of the image, and made various attempts at rearranging the structure of the sound with the image.
The Central Dogma: From Genomic Information to Protein Synthesis
This animated film was made by RIKEN Omics Science Center for the "Beyond DNA" exhibition at the National Science Museum of Japan. The filmmakers attempt to illustrate how molecular machines interact with each other according to the central dogma, with an anime look. This approach helps people (especially kids) to identify these molecules more easily, and to understand how they function in the body. There are two versions of the film: one with English narration and text, and another in Japanese.
K

The Prisoner's Cinema
The Prisoner’s Cinema is a phenomenon which is described in neuro and optical science as visual hallucinations as a result of prolonged visual deprivation. Prisoners confined in a dark cell have repeatedly reported this phenomenon, hence the name. Whenever a person is completely cut off from visual information, as a result of looking at a ‘blank screen’, visual hallucinations will appear. They take the form of geometric light shapes which are seemingly ‘projected’ about a hand stretch away from the subject.
The Roots of Japanese Anime Until the End of WWII: 1930-1942
A rare glimpse of early Japanese sound anime and prewar Japanese culture, The Roots of Japanese Anime features the masterworks of such pioneers of Japanese animation as Noburo Ofuji, Yasuji Murata, and Kenzo Masaoka, in addition to Mitsuyo Seo’s Momotaro’s Sea Eagle, the notorious war cartoon billed as Japan’s first feature anime. These movies represent the brilliance and variety of anime, ranging from beautiful Japanese paper animation to powerful multiplane cel cartoons. They also evoke the fascinating complexity of Japan, a nation that is then both marching towards war, enlisting kids in militarist nationalism, yet also delighting in a mixture of modern popular culture, ancient folk tales, irreverent comedy, and the everyday life of prewar Japanese children.

Adieu la rue des radiateurs – Nina
Writer Mathieu Riboulet read an excerpt from his work "Le Regard de la source" at home. In this passage emerges a portrait of a woman "neither a close friend nor a relative, but certainly a little like one and a little like the other": Nina. The words read aloud are careful and precious, evoking the woman's recent death and her friendship with the author. Then images from the past emerge, with the smooth, fragile texture of old video tapes, taking us back to yesterday and the past - the Moscow of twenty years ago - to a world that seems more irrevocably lost than ever .

Massenet Thais
There's an uncompromising clarity to Blu-ray audio and video that really does bring the splendour of grand opera right into the living room. So it's all the more frustrating to get a compromised production as the final product. Jules Massenet's 1894 tragedy about a sex goddess humbled by an insistent Cenobite monk isn't produced very often, because of a demanding lead role and some difficult staging issues. But the music is gorgeous from beginning to end. When you have a great diva at centre stage, the three acts go by in a flash.
Pavane
Phil and Jay share more than a family bond - failed careers, failed relationships, bottomless drinks, and a debilitating memory of a shocking encounter in a ravine one childhood day. The pretext of being strangers, the darkly comic ritual that the broken, non-functioning brothers perform in an attempt to get at their pain, can't cover the palpable connection between them, nor their deeply felt desire to find redemption. An accomplished pianist, Jay is working as a piano player in a lounge. Mike, one of the bar's patrons, makes a request for Jay to play Maurice Ravel's "Pavane pour une infant defunte", which Jay refuses. This act masks an underlying secret both men share about their childhood.
Risk, Stretch or Die
French Drag King Océan LeRoy is an established celebrity in Berlin’s transgender scene. Famous for his performances of quick transition from woman to man, Océan also lives the contradiction in real life: seductive Drag Star at night, smart sexy successful businesswoman during the day… For almost a year filmmaker Saskia Heyden observes the charismatic and fascinating Ocean against the fitting backdrop of formerly divided and ultra-hip Berlin. Introspective and articulate, Océan LeRoy dwells in ambiguity between day and night, woman and man, openness and mystery. Gloriously challenging the binary yet thriving on both sides, Ocean travels a two-way path of gender with ease.
People Are Just Meat
A revolutionary vegetarian parable about the struggle of bulls against humanity.
Adagio sostenuto
The film tells the love story between Anna and José, while at the same time approaches the intersections of urban violence and artistic creation, nature and civilization, war and peace, life and death, abandon and union, showing that in the end of our path we are still coping with mystery, emptiness and transcendence.
24 Hours of Le Mans Review 1984
The greatest endurance race in the world is the ultimate mix of high-speed action, drama and skill and the 1984 running of the Le Mans 24 hours race was no exception. With the factory Porches withdrawn the scene was set for one of the most unpredictable events for many years, with the works Lancias, privately-entered Porsche machinery and, unexpectedly, the Peugeots, battling for victory. They would be pursued by the determined Aston Martins and the Jaguars, returning to Le Mans for the first time in more than 25 years. As evening fell Le Mans was hit by an horrific accident which shocked drivers and fans, the aftermath and Lloyd's emotional reaction caught on this review. The race continued through the night, but as day broke so did many of the cars, turning the running order on its head and setting up a real fight to the finish.
