La Source
In La Source (pronounced lah-soos), Haiti water does not come easily. Each day, villagers of this small, rural community must choose between enduring a long, treacherous walk to retrieve clean water or drink contaminated water from a nearby river. For over 30 years, the villagers have attempted to address this problem by constructing a means of channeling the water from a natural spring in the mountains, but with limited funding and an unsupportive government their attempts to provide clean water were to no avail. Since he was a teenager, Josue Lajeunesse, along with his brother Chrismedonne have dreamt of remedying this problem for their people. In 1989, Josue moved from La Source to New Jersey where he found employment as a custodian at Princeton University. His custodial work and second job as a taxi driver, which total close to 20 hours a day, allows him to send money home to La Source so that he and Chrismedonne...

It Stinks Of Eyes Around Here is a Ginger Wildheart & friends acoustic tour documentary DVD. The Raw and the Cooked
The Raw and The Cooked is a culinary journey around the gourmets paradise, Taiwan. The film makes seven stops along the way. In the islands capital, Taipei, we visit a traditional Taiwanese restaurant, a legendary dim-sum palace, and one of the city's lively night markets. Next, we encounter the hearty cuisine of the Hakka, Taiwan's largest ethnic community; were introduced to the pure and delicious seafood specialties of the Ami indigenous tribe; and we get a glimpse of the Buddhist influences on Taiwanese cuisine. Finally, we are invited to a banquet by one of the islands most creative chefs. Combining traditional cuisine and best organic ingredients, he weaves a culinary magic to create spectacular and novel dishes. On our travels, we witness the efforts of Taiwan's young environmental movement to resist the rapid pace of urbanization, which is destroying much of the islands beautiful countryside. The Raw and The Cooked is an island tour that celebrates fine food.

This short film by Marina and Alessio Pierro was inspired by the way that Walerian Borowczyk would project photographs and drawings onto a transparent screen, the dust and and smoke-filled light becoming an almost tangible part of the experience. A 'Himorogi' is a sacred space or altar, and this one pays homage to Borowczyk's visionary cinema.

BBC Earth - New Guinea
Lost Land of the Volcano is a three-part nature documentary series produced by the BBC Natural History Unit which follows a scientific expedition to the island of New Guinea. The expedition team, which includes specialist zoologists, explorers and the BBC crew, travels to the extinct volcano of Mount Bosavi in central Papua New Guinea to document the biodiversity of this little-visited area and search for new species. At the time of filming, logging was taking place about 20 miles (32 km) south from the volcano, and one of expedition's aims was to find evidence to support the case to protect the area. Some members of the expedition team travelled to the island of New Britain several hundred kilometres to the east to chart an unexplored cave system and observe an active volcano. The series was broadcast in September 2009 on BBC One in the United Kingdom in a three-part run. In the United States, it was broadcast the same month in seven parts on consecutive nights.
