They Will Have to Kill Us First
They Will Have to Kill Us First
In 2012, jihadists took control of northern Mali. They imposed one of the strictest interpretations of sharia law in history. On August 12th they banned music - radio stations destroyed, instruments burned and musicians facing torture, even death. Overnight, Mali’s most revered members of society – the musicians – were forced into hiding or exile. This film follows Mali’s musicians as they fight to keep music alive in their country. We witness fierce battles between the army and the jihadists, capture life over borders at refugee camps where money and hope are scarce, follow perilous journeys home to war ravaged cities, and for one band, Songhoy Blues, their path to international stardom.

Lise Dion appears in better shape than ever in "Le temps qui court", her 3rd career show directed by Michel Courtemanche and applauded by more than 365,000 spectators. In addition to explaining to us what she did during her absence from the stage which lasted 6 years, Lise gives news of Marcel and their teenagers... who, in principle, are no longer teenagers. Vacations in the South, technology, the passage of time, and the things you absolutely have to do in your life are among the topics she covers in an absolutely hilarious way.

Go sweep the sea
Go sweep the sea
Ephraim and Osama share the same land, but in their hearts the desire is to get rid of each other. Their lives resemble two parallel lines that will never meet. The first is a graduate of the Seder yeshiva who adheres to the teachings of Rabbi Kahana and believes in the Land of Israel for the people of Israel. The second -- a Palestinian who belongs in his identity to his brothers in the neighboring Arab countries. Ephraim is disturbed that the Arabs "raise their heads too much" while Osama feels oppression towards Arabs by the government. According to the circumstances of their lives, they probably would have "meeted" in violent events between Jews and Arabs, but despite the great paradox - in the film something surprising was created between them. "Go wash the sea" is a docu-film that touches on the open wounds of Israeli society, wounds that are talked about in a whisper, in silence. Can the impossible be made possible? Is it possible to stretch the sea?
